Hindoo Holiday by J.R. Ackerley 1st / 1st 1932
First edition and first print published by Chatto & Windus in 1932. This is a very good copy. With the rare dust wrapper that has been price clipped. There is a small amount of loss along the top edge of the back panel also where it looks to have been trimmed but a couple of milimeters. Other than that the jacket is in very good order and displays the iconic dust wrapper artwork by Brien. The book has a bump to a couple of corners otherwise in nice condition with clean pages and no pen. Overall a very good copy.
Hindoo Holiday is a comic memoir. It is written in the form of (and based on) a journal which Ackerley kept during his five-month engagement as secretary to Vishvanath Singh, Maharajah of Chhatarpur between December 1923 and May 1924.
