This is a near fine copy of James Dickey's 'Deliverance' in first edition, first printing. Hamish Hamilton, London, 1970. The textblocks in great condition with the top textblock dyed a bold red colour, and without foxing or discolouration. The dust jacket shows a small amount of shelfware, however is in overall near fine condition, but has been price clipped. There is a small previous booksellers label on the inside board. The boards are slightly bent inward at the bottom corners however are free from chips and marks. Overall this is a near fine copy. 

 

James Dickey’s novel Deliverance takes place in the wilderness of North Georgia. Four friends, Lewis, Bobby, Drew, and Ed, decide to take a weekend canoe trip to escape their lives in the city and the boredom they feel there. None of them have any experience canoeing, and their knowledge about the wilderness is limited, yet Bobby, Ed, and Drew go along with Lewis’s suggestion that they make this trip.
