Dead Men Rising by Seaforth Mackenzie 1st / 1st 1951
First UK edition and first print published by Jonathan Cape in 1951. This is a very good +++ copy. The jacket is bright and unfaded. There are a hanful of foxing marks to the back panel and to the reverse of the jacket. It isn't price clipped. The book has occasional spotting marks to the first couple of pages and to the top text block otherwise it is clear and without previous handling wear. Overeall a very good +++ copy.
Seaforth Mackenzie is the pseudonym of Australian author Kenneth Mackenzie. This is his third regarding the attempted mass-escape of Japanese prisoners of war from a camp in new south wales during WW2. Based on real events it is only loosely so being a work of fiction. The stunning jacket design is by Alexander Werner.
