Dark Estuary by B.B. D.J. Watkins-Pitchford 1st / 1st 1951

First UK edition and first print published by Hollis & Carter in 1953. This is a near fine copy. The notoriously fragile wrapper is complete and scarce thus. There is a closed and repaired tear to the top left. This repair has been reinforced with a piece of tape to the reverse. Otherwise the jacket is free from creases, tears or loss. The spine has none of the browning seen in other copies. It is price clipped. The book itself is immaculate with no marks to the boards or pages. This is a highly collectible near fine copy.
 
The companion volume to 'Tide's Ending', and continues the author's detailed description of wildfowl. It is accompanied with several full page colour plates. A lovely copy in nice condition.
