Crowds and Power by Elias Canetti first edition 1962

London: Gollancz (1962). First UK edition. 8vo., blue cloth boards, with gilt lettering to the spine, with the original dust jacket; pp. 495, [i]; A near fine copy. The book has a small previous owner's address label to the front paste down. The spine of the dust wrapper is a shade tanned and there is a scuff mark to the top corner of the back panel. The jacket hasn't been price clipped. It is a sharp copy.  
 
The nobel Laureate's masterpiece about the psychology of crowd behaviour. Canetti poured 25 years of his life into researching the subject fired by an early encounter as a child with a hostile crowd at the outbreak of the first world war.
