Back to the Local by Maurice Gorham / Edward Ardizzone 1st / 1st 1949

First edition and first print published by Percival Marshall in 1949. This is a near fine copy. The wrapper is very complete and unfaded with an even tone across all of the panels. There are three pieces of tape to the reverse of the jacket along the top edge and the front panel has a small closed year repaired by the tape. The wrapper has not been price clipped. The book is very nice with clean and bright boards along with very clean pages. There are no previous owners marks or foxing at all. A very nice near fine copy.

Follow up to 'The Local' published a decade earlier. Ardizzone contributes some new illustrations as well as retain a few from the first title. All first issue points present [Anderson 26]
