VIVIAN, Herbert (1865-1940). Autograph letter signed to Charles Francis Keary concerning the publication of reminiscences of Sir Nicholas O'Conor following the diplomat's death. The Pleasaunce, Woking, 20 March 1908.
 
Single sheet, folded, 140 x 220 mm, written on the first page only. Very good with the usual horizontal fold from posting and light handling wear.
 
Written the day after the death of Sir Nicholas O'Conor (1843-1908), the distinguished British ambassador to Constantinople, Vivian enquires whether M.A.P. or one of Charles Francis Keary's other publications would be interested in publishing "some anecdotes & reminiscences of Sir Nicholas O'Conor, late Ambassador at Constantinople, whom I have known for a great many years."
Herbert Vivian was a journalist, author and traveller, noted for founding The Whirlwind, editing several political journals, and writing extensively on European politics, travel and monarchy.
