First edition. In a half leather and cloth binding in a lovely near fine condition. With the decorative and gothic bookplate of Gilbert C Elliot to the front pastedown. The skull and snake motif with a heart is reproduced in gilt on the front board and also on the leather spine. Very clean pages. Frontispiece engraving by Edward Finden.
Two lengthy poems by the poet laureate – the first about the life of St Basil the Great. Rare in this condition
