The Double Helix by James D. Watson, 1st/1st, 1968
London: Weidenfeld & Nicholson, (1968). First edition. This is a very good copy. The dust wrapper is plain and illustrated with the double helix to the left edge, It suffers from mild crumpling and very slight separation at the top and tail of the spine and the front and rear panels. There is a mild tear to the bottom of the frontal panel; it has not been price clipped. The boards, covered in a light purple cloth, are free from chips and marks with an attractive gilt title. The text blocks are generally free from foxing but with slight spots present. Overall, this is a very good copy of a key title. A personal account of the discovery of the structure of DNA, a major scientific award which led to the award of the 1962 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine.
