Trespasses by Paul Bailey, 1st / 1st, 1970
London: Jonathan Cape, (1970).
First edition. This is a near fine copy. The dust wrapper is bright and plainly illustrated, it is clean throughout and with very light signs of shelf wear present. There is a small tear in the top left corner of the rear panel and it has been neatly price clipped. The deep red coloured boards are free from notable chips and marks and the text blocks are generally bright and white throughout. Overall, this is a near fine copy. Set in Camberwell in the 1950s, this is the story of Ralph Hicks, of his restrictive working-class background and his search for something better - only to find that he can't find love, and finally of his resultant breakdown.
